Hi, I'm Nick Mantegna, play by play broadcaster for Villanova University. I've been announcing for 3 decades, getting my start in mid 2000's when streaming was brand new for Villanova's website. From Fox Sports app, to Flo Sports, and now ESPN+ , it's a been a great journey covering so many sports. I also freelance for various schools in the Philly area while also providing color commentary. I love to cover x's and oh's while also delivering entertainment with my pop culture quip whips.
 
My concentration is the olympic sports world. It's hard to put into words how much I love calling various sports like Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer and Women's Volleyball. Getting to call high school and college lacrosse is such a favorite as I keep up with rules by watching TV while prepping! (Watching TV is fun homework)
 
I also call College Football for Villanova, Field Hockey at West Chester, Women's Lacrosse at Drexel while also finding my way into water sports calling swimming + water polo since 2023. 
 
I'm a graduate of Penn State University and attended all 4 years at the University Park Campus. During my time at Penn State, I served as a student play by play broadcaster with The Lion 90.7 FM, WKPS-FM for 2 years. Calling football, mens basketball and baseball were among the highlights during my student radio days. I also was the director of the Lion 90.7 FM for 1 season, hosting a daily sports talk show called "The Lion Sportblitz."
